How Soon can I Get a Mommy Makeover after My Baby is Born?

Pregnancy will have an effect on your body. Even under ideal conditions, growing a baby will displace and weaken abdominal muscles, require the accumulation of fat deposits, and change the size and shape of your breasts.

Following the birth of your child, diet and exercise are recommended to help restore both strength and ideal contours to your body. However, if diet and exercise alone fail to produce the results you desire, a mommy makeover procedure may be the next logical step.

Mommy Makeover Candidates

Good candidates for a mommy makeover should:

  • Be close to their ideal weight
  • No longer be breastfeeding
  • Be fully recovered from the physical strain of pregnancy and labor
  • Be prepared for a surgical procedure and recovery period

It is important to remember that changes achieved through procedures such as tummy tuck surgery and breast enhancement will be undone with subsequent pregnancies. If you plan on having more children but are looking for a way to sculpt and tone your body in between pregnancies, Dr. Desman would be happy to discuss individual body contouring options.
