Many different chemical peels are available in the area, some requiring weeks of preparation, discomfort, and a long recovery process. The VI Peel provides patients with the same dramatic outcome as seen from deep chemical peels without the discomfort or extended healing process. This unique skincare procedure is designed to overturn the early signs of aging with little downtime. After one week, patients can see an improvement in the skin’s texture and tone; large pores are made smaller, and areas of hyperpigmentation can be significantly reduced.
If it seems you’ve tried every skin care product on the shelf, but are still dealing with dull, tired-looking skin, discoloration, scarring or wrinkles, you may want to change your approach and consider our esthetician services. When you need a quick, convenient, and painless answer to your skin woes, the Vi Peel in Northern Virginia and Alexandria may be an ideal solution for you.
The Vi Peel provides a gentle, yet potent, medical-grade chemical peel which removes the damaged, dull outer layer of skin and allows the fresh, smooth underlying layer to emerge. It treats conditions like acne and acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, age, sunspots, hyperpigmentation, melasma, rosacea, and enlarged pores, resulting in a healthier, better-balanced skin.
The Vi Peel is safe for all skin types and tones, and is suitable to treat your neck, chest, arms, legs and back. It is gentle enough for undereye use where the skin is delicate, unlike the more invasive procedures. The Vi Peel has the benefit of no downtime or recovery after the procedure, which is best suited for the busy patient in Alexandria or Northern Virginia.
The magic of the Vi Peel lies in its unique formula which includes a blend of trichloroacetic acid (TCA), tretinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, and alpha and beta-hydroxy working together to safely remove the upper layer of skin, promote cellular turnover and collagen production, and refine the new skin layer for a smooth, clear, and firm skin presence.

The best candidates for a Vi Peel have fair to medium skin tone and are looking to improve mild to moderate signs of aging, reduce scarring, and reverse sun damage and skin discoloration. For those Northern Virginia and Alexandria patients with darker complexions, this treatment may cause hyperpigmentation, so it is important to sit down with our aesthetician to determine if a Vi Peel is the right treatment for you.
Most patients report little to no discomfort from a Vi Peel, but if you have a low tolerance for pain or sensitive skin, there may be some mild to moderate burning or tingling sensation during the treatment. Typically, there is no need for a numbing cream or any anesthetic.
During a Vi Peel, we clean your skin before applying the solution which we separate into two phases. The first phase penetrates the surface skin cells, and the second penetrates deep into the dermis to target toxins and dead skin cells. The solution dries on the skin quickly, and you are free to resume daily activities, but you must wait five hours before washing it off.
The Vi Peel is an in-office procedure which takes between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on the size of the area you are having treated.
You will not notice any effects immediately after treatment but two to three days afterward, your skin will begin to peel, continuing for up to six days. Your appearance at this time will look like a mild sunburn which is flaking off gradually. After a Vi Peel, it’s crucial to use gentle products for cleansing, avoiding harsh soaps and shampoos, skin scrubs, lasers, and direct sunlight. Also, remember to wear sunscreen during this time to protect your skin while it’s sensitive.
Once the peeling has subsided, you will notice some improvement with optimal results realized after six weeks. Your skin should be firmer, clearer, and smoother, allowing you to enjoy a healthy, radiant glow.
With many or our patients, one treatment is enough, however, with others we recommend multiple sessions in four-week intervals. This regimen will be followed by annual touch-up treatments to maintain your flawless results.
Only a licensed aesthetician or board-certified doctor who specializes in Vi Peel treatment should administer this treatment. Licensure and certification ensure the practitioner will meet or exceed safety standards and adhere to a high quality of comfort and care.
Although many skincare professionals are licensed to perform Vi Peel, only trust an experienced and licensed aesthetician who works under a board-certified surgeons’ oversight.
