New Botulinum Toxin Approved

Dysport (TM) has just been approved by the FDA for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines. Dysport uses a proprietary form of botulinum toxin (abobotulinumtoxinA) to smooth wrinkles and improve your looks. It essentially works the same way as Botox Cosmetic, but due to differences in manufacturing, the dosing strengths between the two products is different. For example, with Botox Cosmetic, it may take 15-20 units to treat the vertical lines between your eyebrows (glabellar area). With Dysport, it may take 40-50 units. You will get the same effect, but with different doses. Call the office at 703 924-3144 if you would like to speak with Dr. Desman about Dysport or Botox Cosmetic.
